Bio-Oil

Vidyan works with sustainable technologies which convert a wide range of biomass and organic waste into a high density liquid fuel known as bio-oil. The bio-oil can subsequently be converted to other biofuels, since it is clean and suitable for energy generation.

Pyrolysis Oil is...

a synthetic fuel made from the thermochemical decomposition of biomass under extreme temperature and pressure. This fuel has several drawbacks including, non-volatility, corrosiveness and immiscibility with fossil fuels. Upgrading pyrolysis oil to relieve its high oxygen content makes it expensive and harmful to the environment.

Our Solution

Our affiliates have developed an alternative to pyrolysis oil in the form of bio-crude or bio-oil via the patented Catalytic Thermo Liquefaction (CTL) technology. This technology is capable of converting any type of organic waste into a high-density liquid fuel termed bio-oil, with low or no upgrading requirements.

Benefits of Bio-Oil…

include increased stability, ease of storage and low fuel upgrading requirements. It has a high heating value, low oxygen, sulphur and water content. Therefore, many industrial and commercial burners that require low solid and ash content are readily compatible with bio-oil.
